New Project: Cycle Sports Oakland Video

May 9, 2012

Lately I have been working at the bike shop more, now that the sun has stayed pretty constant in California. One of the perks of this is the chance for some new cool projects. Included in this is the opportunity to both be an on camera talent (I use the word talent very loosely) and talk with some bicycle industry pros about the cool gear they like. Last week I got to sit down with Mary Moncorge, an amazing enduro downhill mountain bike racer, and talk about Time Pedals – who she works for. It was very fun and thus far this new endeavor seems to be working well. Later this week I get to talk with Jeremy Casey from Gu Energy products about their line-up and the importance of eating on the bike. Hopefully I will also get a ride on a new Niel Pryde bike this weekend and can chat with the guys from Niel Pryde about their upcoming appearance with the United Health Care cycling team in the Tour of California. Video Postcard from Portland

April 9, 2012

Spent last week in Portland and drove out to the coast.  This was the quick edit of some of the footage I shot.  I met with old friends, made new ones, attended a political rally, and enjoyed some good food.  All in all, it was a great week.

New Project, CDSP Conversations

March 20, 2012
By

I recently proposed a new project to the Communications Director of CDSP titled ‘CDSP Conversations.’ I envisioned a series of short videos that highlight the many distinguished guests that the Seminary hosts each year, their passions, and their work in their own context. This is the first of that possible series. In this video we are speaking with the Bishop of Panama, who discusses the way that a multi-cultural and post-colonial world influence Panama, and especially the Anglican Church – which is often a highly colonial institution. There is also a version of this interview in Spanish that is slightly different, but I do not have it online yet.

I am very excited about this and this type of project. Talking with people about their passions and their cultural context is simply fascinating and often provides insights into my own world in the process.
